More About The Success Fund

The Success Fund Committee began in November 2007 when a diverse group of community members came together for the purpose of raising monies to help ensure the success of Marshall Public School students – now and for decades to come. Success Fund monies are held at the Marshall Community Foundation in an affiliate fund for Marshall Public Schools. An endowment fund has also been created.

In a very short period of time, the Success Fund Committee has:

  • Created a volunteer committee and governance structure for decades to come
  • Surveyed the Marshall Public Schools parents, teachers, administrators and community to suggest programs, activities or equipment that would enhance learning
  • Began discussions with Marshall Public Schools for the creation of a community-involved academic strategic plan and planning process
  • Partnered with the Betterment Committee to fund a section of all-day kindergarten
  • Established an annual spring “Honor an Educator” program
  • Held three successful "Swing for Success” fall golf outings
  • Embarked on annual "Back to School" fundraising activities
  • Established a mechanism to begin on-going communications with our alumni and community
  • Raised much needed funds to purchase history textbooks for Marshall Public Schools
  • Established an Alumni Spotlight program featuring many talented and successful graduates from the Marshall Public School system
